Alpine 7894 display problems?

Just bought the Alpine 7894 head unit -- and I love it!

One problem....

The scroll display, specifically the second character in the display, is always garbled with extra character lines.

In other words, an "N" may look like another letter. A "P" or "B" is often unreadable because there is extra character garbage in JUST the 2nd character display.

Anyone know if this is a common problem or not?

Connecting a Delphi Mag mount antenna to the Sony XM01

So, I was thinking of just getting the whole Delphi car kit, which includes the antenna for $70, ...

Sony PnP Modulator with Skyfi?

Last night I did some additional experimentation with FM Modulators and settings for optimum sound quality. Here is what I found, plus some general information that may be helpful:

1. If at all possible, set the SkyFi for the highest possible line-level output and turn down the gain (volume) on your modulator to compensate. This will sound much better than any other combination which achieves the same overall modulation levels.

2. Set the volume to ...
