Antenna Pointing Solution!

Postby cynoxure » Sat Aug 21, 2010 9:03 pm

I had some trouble aligning my sirius antenna toward the correct location. There had to be an easier way. Now, pointing your antenna just got easier. We developed a series of satellite pointing apps for your android phone which are available in the tools section of the Google Android Marketplace. One is the CyRadioSatFinder app specifically designed to help the person find the correct direction to point your antenna. While this app does come at a small cost, a free app (CyGPSFinder) will demonstrate the capabilities befre you purchase to ensure it meets your needs. The usefulness of this app is apparent when you select the satellite of interest and move to the Finder tab where the phone will help the user point directly at the satellite. That's right! Your phone will point you toward the satellite. Just point your antenna where the phone says and you're done. It's pretty cool.

Also, we can easily produce a more tailored app if there is a need for it. For example, CyRadioSatFinder provides locations for many broadcast satellites, but only Sirius and XM. It's possible an app tailored to any if desired. Give us your thoughts...
